Abstrak

Budaya honour killing di Pakistan terus menjadi fenomena kekerasan kultural dan terstruktur. Langkah pemerintah melalui kerjasam internasional CEDAW untuk menurunkan angka honour killing tidak memberikan dampak signifikan. Tingginya angka kasus Honour killing dimotivasi oleh struktur budaya patriarki dan otoritas tradisional sebagai aspek fundamental idenitas sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi budaya patriarki yang melegitimasi kekerasan terhadap perempuan di Pakistan. Metode yang digunakan merupakan analisis data sekunder dari berbagai provinsi seperti Punjab, Sindh, dan Balochistan. Penelitian sebelumnya seringkali menganalisa dampak honour killing dari segi kemanusiaan dan sosial, namun tidak menganalisa secara detail akar konflik kultral yang dipercaya sebagai faktor utama dalam kasus honour killing di Pakistan. Penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa perubahan hukum semata tidak cukup untuk mengatasi tingginya angka honour killing di Pakistan, lebih kompleks dari itu tantangan modernisasi reformasi sistem peradilan, rendahnya pendidikan masyarakat , dan transformasi norma-norma kemanusiaan di era modern menjadi faktor penting dalam kasus ini.
