Alhamdulillah, we are pleased to announce the publication of JISIERA Vol. 7, No. 2 (October 2024). Praise be to Allah for granting us the opportunity to share this edition, which continues our mission to explore the intricate relationships between Islamic studies and international relations. The opening article by Gamal Abdul Nasir Makatita and Mutia Hariati Hussin delves into the role of social media as a propaganda tool during the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, highlighting the profound impact of digital communication on public perception and international discourse. Khairul Munzilin and M. Anugrah Putra Mahardhika examine the blockade of Israeli merchant ships by Yemeni Houthi forces, shedding light on its implications for both regional and global stability, underscoring the intricate ties between localized conflicts and broader geopolitical ramifications.

Meanwhile, Ibaadurrahman Azzahidi presents a unique study on the paradiplomatic collaboration between the Pattani government and Ponorogo in Thailand, focusing on the development of Islamic education and illustrating how local governments can engage in meaningful international cooperation. Fikri Arfiansyah Husnain offers a timely examination of the Singapore-Laos education cooperation through the Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP), assessing its impact on human capital development in Laos and highlighting the importance of educational partnerships in fostering growth.
