الملخص

Gender inequality has been on the agenda of national discussions in Nigeria with women being the most vulnerable figures. In 2016 Nigeria experienced an increase in cases of gender inequality, especially in the economic and political sectors. The dynamics of gender inequality felt by women in Nigeria continued when in 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the world causing new problems including in Nigeria. The challenges faced by Nigerian women are increasingly complex, but slowly in the same year, several women's action movements in Nigeria began to form. In addition, the implementation of the flagship program of UN Women provides several new opportunities for Nigerian women, especially in the economic and political sectors. This research aims to see the extent of UN Women's implementation in overcoming gender inequality against women in Nigeria 2016-2020. This research uses a qualitative method and research data collection using literature studies. This study found that the implementation of UN Women's policy in overcoming gender inequality against women in Nigeria has succeeded in providing opportunities and space for Nigerian women to participate in several ways, through several means, such as the provision of financial to technical assistance, cooperation with NGO actors to government and civil society.
